- Over the course of 10 years, A.P. Construction was awarded three construction projects for Whitby School. Totaling 100,000 square feet, the projects completed include new school structures, additions, interior and exterior renovations, a science labs and classrooms, and site work.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, design support, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.

Renaissance Hall
28,600 sq. ft.; Perkins & Will
- Out-of-ground construction and renovation of existing space while school was in session, and despite an unexpected four‑month delay, the project ultimately finished on time and under budget.
- Added classrooms and specialized rooms, upgraded the front lobby with a maple reception desk and ceramic tile flooring, and expanded faculty and conference spaces to improve functionality and flow across the facility.
- Constructed a wastewater treatment system providing recycled water and reducing usage by 33%.
Interior & Exterior Renovation
31,000 sq. ft.; Butler Rogers Baskett Architects
- Interior and exterior renovation of two 1960’s-era buildings.
- Founders Hall: 21,000 sq. ft. Completed full interior demolition and reconstruction of MEP systems and finishes for a pre‑school building, including 12 classrooms, restrooms, a library, a teachers’ lounge, a kitchen, and a new Simplex fire alarm system.
- Created a new entry oval with cove‑lit ceiling mural, patterned linoleum flooring, and custom maple wall panels and benches, while providing each classroom its own fenced play yard with specialty surfaces and xeriscape landscaping.
- Caedmon Hall: 10,000 sq. ft. Conversion of an existing classroom building into a performing arts center, including full interior demolition, new MEP systems, upgraded finishes, Lutron theatrical lighting, Bose sound integration, and renovated school offices and lounge.
Science Wing New Construction
6,200 sq. ft.; James G. Rogers Architects
- Constructed a two‑story classroom and science lab addition, including a basement, within a tight site footprint, custom laboratory furniture, specialized science equipment, and a design technology room featuring extensive data, audio/visual, and control systems. Rooftop photovoltaic panels were installed to supply 8,640 watts of sustainable power.
- Managed extensive site challenges, including delayed permitting that forced early material delivery and storage, unsuitable soils, and high groundwater requiring continuous pumping during slab drainage installation. Collaborated with the design team on waterproofing solutions and built a temporary access road per fire marshal requirements, ultimately completing the project on time and under budget.
