Project Description:
- Multi-phase, ground-up construction project that includes a new modernized elementary school with interconnecting, common learning spaces between clusters of classrooms and a courtyard that is built alongside the existing school which remained 100% operational throughout the construction process.
- Phase 1: Construction of the academic and administrative building wings including a temporary library and cafeteria totaling 80,000 square feet. The buildings surround a new courtyard which serves as an additional learning space.
- Phase 2: Demolition of the entire old school building and construction of a new gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, and media center. The second phase was approximately 28,000 square feet.
- Installation of all new utilities while maintaining existing utilities, to ensure the existing school remains operational.
- Careful site logistics planning and coordination with the school and neighbors was critical to ensuring the safety of the students and staff.
- Construction management services included: constructability reviews, budgeting, value engineering, logistical planning, safety planning, subcontractor bid and award, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.
