Project Description:

  • The project consisted of a new 16,000 square foot, three-story Visual Arts Center addition which includes an open dance studio, art studio, and an open chorus room. The new steel structure was built on concrete slabs with metal deck and sloped roof trusses.
  • The exterior of the new structure was finished with Glen-Gery brick and Kawneer curtain wall windows to match the existing Performing Arts Center. The site work included new paving, parking lots, and landscaping.
  • All construction was performed on an occupied school campus. Careful logistic and safety planning was coordinated with the school to ensure minimum disruption to the students and faculty and safe separation from construction activities.
  • Construction Management services included: budgeting, value engineering, constructibility reviews, logistical and safety planning, scheduling, mock-up facilitation, material procurement, subcontractor bid & award, and construction.
