Project Description:

  • The project consisted of reconstructing the 20,000 square foot Harrison Courtyard to echo the landscaping from the other phases, tying the campus together, and creating outdoor gathering areas for the students and faculty.
  • 12,000 cubic yards of material were excavated from a sunken courtyard. Due to the physical positioning of the site our field teams creatively devised methods of material movement that did not damage the integrity of the existing retaining wall system and did not disrupt normal school operations.
  • Prefabricated stone wall systems were used to overcome the tight deadlines and logistical challenges of the site. Wall sections were built off-site in controlled environments which allowed for progress to continue even during the winter months.
  • All construction was performed on an occupied school campus. Careful logistic and safety planning was coordinated with the school to ensure minimum disruption to the students and faculty and safe separation from construction activities.
  • Construction Management services included: budgeting, value engineering, constructibility reviews, logistical and safety planning, scheduling, mock-up facilitation, material procurement, subcontractor bid & award, and construction.
