Project Description:
- The project consisted of three major components which included the ground-up construction of a new ambulette bay, medical gas upgrades, and an extensive renovation to their outpatient facility.
- The new ambulette bay portion of the project began with the demolition of an existing greenhouse. A steel structure was erected over a new slab on grade foundation and was finished with faux brick, curtain wall glass, and wrap-around glass canopy to tie seamlessly into the existing hospital. This project also included a completely new drainage system with underground cultecs. The project was finished with new sidewalks, paving, herringbone pattern pavers at the ambulette drop off area, stone walls, and landscaping.
- 150 beds were upgraded with new medical gas lines including oxygen, suction, and negative air. Roof top units were installed to support the new systems. Careful coordination with the hospital was critical to executing this intrusive work in a fully operational hospital.
- The “Ranch House” outpatient facility was originally an old stable brick masonry structure with the second floor suspended from the roof which required significant structural enhancements as part of the renovation. The newly expanded space provided an updated large physical therapy area with 114-foot-long Bioness patient lift system, all new speech and occupational therapy areas, new exam rooms, new corridors, new offices, and a new expansive waiting area/lobby on both floors.
- Construction Management services included: budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, logistical and safety planning, scheduling, material procurement, subcontractor bid & award, and construction.
