Project Description
- Construction of a new 41,000 sq. ft. short‑term inpatient rehabilitation facility that expands Waveny LifeCare Network’s capacity to serve more than 400 additional patients annually and strengthens access to post‑acute care services for the region.
- The two‑story facility includes 30 private patient rooms, expanded inpatient and outpatient therapy areas, dedicated education and training spaces, an interfaith chapel, and family‑supportive environments designed to support healing and recovery.
- The project includes an extensive enabling phase, consisting of utility relocations and earth‑retaining work required to establish the footprint for the new 30‑bed addition, along with approximately 7,500 sq. ft. of major renovation within the existing building.
- New and renovated interior spaces include expanded administrative areas, a larger dining room, a new conference room, and a redefined main entrance and lobby with views into the healing garden. The lower level provides expanded mechanical and service areas supporting the new facility.
- Developed in collaboration with Waveny’s clinical teams, the project incorporates modern rehabilitation technology, telemedicine capabilities, and adaptable patient‑care environments that support evolving clinical needs.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, value engineering on Phases II through IV, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.
