Project Description:
- Built in 1913, the South Norwalk Library features the Classic Revival style typical of libraries funded by the Carnegie Foundation.
- The project consisted of 11,000 square feet of renovated floor area and 3,000 square feet of new additions.
- New restroom facilities on all three floors were installed.
- Total renovation of the main library area, the children’s library, circulation desks, reading rooms, computer and work areas.
- The West addition included a three-story stair tower, elevator and a new lobby area.
- A two-story stair tower was added on the East side.
- Construction management services included: budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling and construction.
