Project Description:
- Initial work involved conversion of an existing community based performing arts theatre to a live broadcast TV studio that films and produces three nationally broadcasted shows – The Jerry Springer Show, Steve Wilkos Show, and Maury Povich Show.
- Second phase involved conversion of Studio B used for audience holding into new live broadcast TV studio for Judge Jerry Show.
- Schedule designed to accommodate and meet filming schedule deadline for live broadcasting. Total build out time was ten weeks.
- Project was built in part as a design/build in order to meet time requirements of the studio production team. This required the design team to meet on site 2-3 times weekly in order to review design changes, approve submittals and resolve conflicts.
- Oversight of multi-faceted disciplines including stage and studio lighting and set designs in order to meet building code requirements and coordinate with construction.
- In order to meet the strict acoustical requirements of the recording studio and work within the parameters of the existing structural limitations, duct socks were installed in the 80’ high studio in lieu of sheet metal duct work to distribute 80 tons of air.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling construction and commissioning oversight.
