Project Description:

  • Project involved the construction of a two story structure with a mezzanine for the display and sales of the intricately custom made McLaren automobiles. The main level has the showroom with a rotating turntable, custom desk, consultation areas and informational displays to explain custom opportunities. The mezzanine level has open offices with glass fronts and the basement is for the detailing and storage of automobiles and materials.
  • The exterior glazing on the front is an Old Castle structural glass system custom made for the structure. The remainder of the building has prefabricated metal panels with integral insulation. The structure is concrete with structural steel.
  • The interior finishes were closely coordinated with the glazing system and include imported stone on the turntable and porcelain tiles on the showroom floor. Walls and ceiling are metal panels with metallic paint. Reception desk is a free form shape to highlight the profile of the vehicles. The exterior building panels and glass lines follow through to the interior floor grout lines which line up with the custom German cabinetry and interior glass lines.
  • A special feature is the revolving turntable to highlight all sides of the McLaren. Specially ordered to fit the space, the turntable was set in place on the structural system and then the finishes were applied.  The stone was laser cut to create the perfect circular patterns.
