Project Description:
- $30 million multi-phase revitalization project that will feature a redesigned train station, a new anchor restaurant, modernized mixed-use space, new pedestrian and commuter pathways, improved access to the train platform, and the replacement of all sidewalks and granite curbing from the Arch Street railroad bridge to the Steamboat Road railroad bridge. All will be renovated to provide new retail storefronts and tenant spaces, connecting the active retail streetscape of Greenwich Avenue to the Greenwich Train Station.
- Phase 1: Careful deconstruction of the existing theater to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding area while preparing the site for phased construction.
- Phase 2: Construction of a new 5,000-square-foot restaurant. The anchor restaurant will feature expansive outdoor seating, large sliding glass doors, and a “green roof”, designed with soil and plantings that serve a critical role in water quality and management.
- Phase 3: Construction and modernization of the eight existing storefront suites.
- Phase 4: Comprehensive renovation of the train station includes improved access to the train platform and new pedestrian and commuter pathways. The redesigned station consists of a new wood-slatted ceiling, designer lighting, restrooms, flooring, glass railings, and a new elevator.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.
