Project Description:
- Project included a new 4,000 square foot wing, renovations to 7,000 square feet of the existing structure, and extensive site work.
- The new wing has a 2,700 square foot Great Hall that is open on the second level with a balcony and a walk down the length of one side and a tower with an open arch, stair to the second floor and a classroom. The Great Hall has random width oak floor, wainscot paneling, heavy exposed wood tresses, a tongue and groove wood ceiling, and audio visual system for presentations. The foundation involved the use of rammed aggregate piers. The wing uses structural steel with stone veneer on the tower and board and batten siding on the great hall.
- Renovation to the existing structure included the development of a servery and handicap restrooms, redesign of the kitchen, upgrades to the classroom wing and changes to the choir and robing rooms. Work included new ceilings, lighting, sprinkler, HVAC, and finishes.
- Site work included the relocation of the pre-school playground, development of a new open cloister, and the regrading and reorganization of the existing parking to provide 97 spaces, drop-off area, sidewalks, landscaping, storm water detention and drainage, and site lighting. In addition the building was provided with new electrical service, new fire protection main, and a new gas main.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, phasing and construction.
