Project Description:
- Multi-faceted project consisting of significant renovations and mechanical upgrades to the existing Vanderbilt-era mansion, student forum and ancillary spaces.
- Complete reconstruction and expansion of the mansion’s main entry portico while maintaining the original design and using salvaged stone and new imported limestone.
- The mansion’s interior renovations consisted of reconstructing the main entry vestibule with a security office, reception area, conference room, admissions suite, main corridors, and teacher’s lounge. Expansive use of book-matched black walnut millwork and honed stone highlights the signature interior spaces.
- The middle school student forum interior was fully reconstructed, including three restrooms and the adjoining classrooms. Custom oak millwork panels, radius railings, and carpeting are featured in the forum.
- Additional work included a newly constructed Lego room complete with glass walls and doors. New mechanical systems, custom lighting, and other upgrades were completed throughout the mansion and campus.
- Construction management services included: constructability review, budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.
