Project Description:
- Project required the construction of a new 22,000 square foot Visual and Performing Arts Center centrally located on the campus. The building consisted of three attached structures: a two-story classroom wing, a 300-seat theater, and central glass lobby connecting the two wings. Features include cedar siding, stone veneer, galvalume standing seam roof, and extensive site work.
- Site work included removal of an existing building that was the hub of the campus wide telephone, data, and fiber optic connections which needed to be relocated with an extensive system of underground conduits. The positioning of the structure required extensive grading and finish features including soft and hard landscaping with exterior seating areas.
- The theater includes a control room, dressing rooms, scene shop building area, catwalks, rigging, lighting, sound system, elevated stage, and a sloped seating area for 300 people.
- The educational classroom section includes rooms for dance with wall to wall mirrors, photography with dark room, videography with green screen, ceramics, jewelry design, video, painting and drawing.
- Construction management services included: constructability reviews, budgeting, value engineering, logistical planning, safety planning, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction. Project was completed in approximately one year using a three phase design/bid/build fast track system.
