Project Description:
- Project involved the construction an outpatient center on two floors plus some basement improvements for nine groups including a walk-in center. Spaces included a reception and waiting area, individual check-in areas, exam rooms, offices, x-ray center, staff lounge and lockers, call center and restrooms.
- The building needed to be brought up to current code relative to egress, restrooms, emergency lighting and fire alarm.
- A major challenge of the construction was the requirement to complete all work in an 18 week schedule. With over 50 exam rooms and 25 restrooms, the plumbing coordination required extra scrutiny.
- Work included a flood gate in coordination with the City of Stamford flood management requirements.
- Construction management services included review of alternate designs, budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, and construction.
