A.P. Construction Completes 20 Private Clubs in Last 10 Years

Four Projects Completed in the First Half of 2013

A.P. Construction Company recently marked the completion of its 20th private club project in the past 10 years.

Four projects totaling over $11 million were recently completed: the two-phased renovation and expansion of the club house at Old Westbury Golf & Country Club located on Long Island, NY, various renovations at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT, the new addition and renovation at Riverside Yacht Club, in Greenwich, CT, and the new pool and pool house at Woodway Country Club in Darien, CT.

A.P. Construction has managed numerous private club facility renovations, expansions and capital improvements totaling over $100 million. They have completed construction and renovations projects ranging from club houses, locker rooms, pro shops, pools, pool houses, tennis buildings, and maintenance facilities.

Other recent club projects A.P. Construction has completed include the $19 million Patterson Country Club in Fairfield, CT, the $21 million Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, CT, the $12 million Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, CT, the $4.1 Country Club of Darien in Darien, CT, the $4 million Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, NY and the $3 million Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, NY.

The 27,400-square-foot, $8 million dollar Old Westbury’s Golf & Country Club’s project was completed in two phases over consecutive winters. Phase one consisted of a new addition to the clubhouse and interior renovations. Phase two was primarily interior renovations and a new deck. The architect was James G. Rogers Architects. A.P. Construction’s staff included David Breidenbach, project executive, Mark Kammerer, project manager and Gene Marini, superintendent.

The $1.6 million, 7,000-square-foot expansion and renovation of the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT included renovations of the club house, pro shop, tennis house and pool house.  A second phase will start in the fall of 2013 to expand the club house and make further renovations. The architect was Jefferson Group Architects. David Breidenbach was the project executive and Rocco Sala was the project manager/superintendent for A.P. Construction.

The Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT was a $3.4 million, 2,200-square-foot club house expansion and renovation.  The architect was James G. Rogers Architects. David Breidenbach was the project executive and Bob Frost was the project manager/superintendent for A.P. Construction.

In Darien, CT, A.P. Construction completed the $3.8 million, 9,500-square-foot pool and pool house renovation for the Woodway Country Club. The architect was Culpen & Woods Architects.  David Breidenbach was the project executive, Mark Kammerer was the project manager and Scott Marlow was the superintendent for A.P. Construction.

A.P. Construction’s management services for club projects generally include: constructability reviews, budgeting, value engineering, schedule analysis, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, construction, and close out.
