Project Description:
- “Renovate as new,” 28-phase, four-year project, performed under occupied conditions, to accommodate increased enrollment, changing curriculum and instructional methods, and state educational mandates.
- Renovated 934-seat auditorium, music area, orchestra room, music technology lab, and instrument storage facility. Improvements included soundproofing practice rooms and integrating the lighting system.
- Installation of a new energy efficient mechanical and electrical plant with a four-pipe HVAC system, upgraded low glare lighting, thermal window replacement, replaced all plumbing fixtures with efficient, water conserving fixtures.
- Modernized building infrastructure, including: updated systems to meet all life, safety, health, fire, building and ADA codes.
- New and renovated physical education areas include a new activity gym, renovated main gym with new bleachers, lighting, wireless scoreboards, locker rooms, fitness and physical training rooms.
- Site improvements include parking for 300 buses and 6,000 cars, new lighting, signage, walkways, storm water drainage and retention, landscaping, and a “safe site” circulation traffic flow that separated passenger cars from buses.
- “Full” asbestos abatement was performed during each phase.
- Construction management services included: budgeting, value engineering, subcontractor bid and award, safety and logistical planning, pre-purchase program, scheduling, phasing and construction.
