Joseph A. Orlando

Vice President – Pre-Construction Services


Mr. Orlando is Vice President – Pre-Construction Services of A.P. Construction Company, a division of The Ashforth Company. He is the primary contact for the owner and design team, and responsible for overseeing A.P. Construction’s estimating and project management groups for the development of budgets, phasing plans, schedules, logistic plans, value engineering, constructability reviews, and bid packages.

Mr. Orlando joined A.P. Construction in 2005, as Project Manager, and subsequently held positions as Senior Project Manager and Project Director. He has been involved in many of the firm’s largest projects including Tamarack Country Club, The Patterson Club, Chelsea Piers Connecticut, Park Square West/66 Summer Street, Metro Green III, and The Atwood.

Mr. Orlando began his career in 1996 at Spiegel, Zamecnik & Shah in New Haven as a Structural Engineer. He also worked for Fletcher Thompson in Bridgeport as a Structural Engineer of Record. Some of his more notable projects included an ambulatory addition for St. Vincent’s Hospital, Timex’s world headquarters, Seymour Middle School, Mystic Aquarium, and the UConn Bio/Physics Building.

Mr. Orlando earned a B.S. from the University of Connecticut in Civil/Structural Engineering.  He holds a Professional Engineering license and certificates in GPRO: Fundamentals, ASHE Healthcare Construction, and OSHA for the Construction Industry. He is also an award recipient of Fairfield County Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and completed the Fairfield County Business Council’s Leadership program.
